Under the theme of “City Smarts: Density 2.0”, the UABB (HK) 2017 will feature inspirational works from local, the Mainland and international creative industries from today (12 December 2017) to 11 February 2018 at nine locations in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. MTR Central Station is one of the exhibition venues where members of the public can explore possible solutions to overcome the current problem of land shortage in order to achieve quality living and high environmental sustainability.

“Despite its hilly landscape and limited natural resources, Hong Kong has managed to become one of the renowned metropolises in the world. Through a wide variety of artworks, installations and spotlight designs from architects, planners, designers, filmmakers, photographers and students, this exhibition showcases some interesting fun facts about the city, smart Hong Kong architecture and city planning,” said Dr Chan Lai-kiu, the Chief Curator of the UABB (HK) 2017.

“MTR is one of the success stories in Hong Kong. With its most valuable resource – human talent, we have helped to solve many difficult problems in such areas as connectivity and community building in the city. We are pleased to provide a popular platform for creative talents to join together to hold art and cultural exchanges, and explore more breakthrough designs through innovative architectural thinking in building an ideal city,” said Ms Linda So, Corporate Affairs Director of MTR Corporation.

“UABB (HK) 2017” – ”City Smarts: Density 2.0” is the latest art exhibition under the “Art in MTR” programme under the Community Connect platform of MTR Corporation. “Art in MTR” has been a popular platform for aspiring artists, designers and talented individuals in the creative industries to showcase their works to the community.
