Hong Kong, China, October 27, 2011 /Xinwengao.com/ - Beijing, China (October 27, 2011) /Xinwengao.com/ — Insider Interactions is one of the features that underpin the new approach InterContinental Meetings offers to its meeting organizers and delegates. Tapping into the unique character, heritage or geography of a destination to inspire interaction, each InterContinental hotel and resort offers activities to engage and motivate meeting delegates in an original way.

During the recent Covidien FY12 Kick-Off Meeting held at the InterContinental Beijing Beichen the Hotel General Manager, Daniel Arbenz, introduced a 12 km run through the scenic Olympic Forest Park, along the rivers and gardens of the Olympic Green and around the Bird’s Nest National Stadium, to some of the more athletic delegates and their guest, inspirational speaker and adventurer David Grier, pairing up fitness, authentic sounds and sights and shared memories from the Olympic Games.

David Grier is introduced as inspiration speaker, culinary chef and extreme adventurer from Cape Town South Africa. He has run the 4,200 km length of the Great Wall in 98 days and his last challenge was to paddle the Mozambique Channel, run the length of Madagascar Island and then paddled and kite-surfed back to Africa with a distance of 4,000 km in 4 month. He established the “Miles for Smiles Foundation” raising funds through adventure racing to perform corrective surgery on children born with cleft lips and palates. As a humanitarian he has shaped his adventure and challenge experiences into a series of inspirational talks, where his message of hope and “making a difference” in peoples’ lives through change, positivity, the right attitude, recognizing opportunity and never giving up inspires companies all over the world.

“I was very honored to run with David,” comments Daniel Arbenz, ” we had a good and steady pace combined with a good talk about the essence of life and I instantly understood what makes listening to David so fascinating and I look forward to use his energy to inspire my team.”
