Air Berlin Inaugurates New Service From China To Germany
Beijing, China (May 6, 2008) /ChinaNewswire.com/ — 2 May 2008 Air Berlin today inaugurated new nonstop service from the Chinese capital city Beijing and the commercial metropolis of Shanghai to Dusseldorf in the heart of Germany and central Europe.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremonies Dieter Hofele, General Manager China remarked: "We are delighted to bring this new service to the cities of Beijing and Shanghai, introducing a new alternative with nonstop flights to Dusseldorf, providing more convenience and choice for Chinese travellers". Initially five flights a week are offered on each route on Airbus A330 aircraft in a two-class configuration. At Dusseldorf, passengers arriving from China now have access to Air Berlin's extensive route network to popular German and European holiday and business destinations.
Air Berlin flights depart daily except Wednesday and Saturday at 10.45am from Terminal 2 at Beijing's Capital International Airport, arriving Dusseldorf at 3.15pm the same day. From Shanghai Pudong International Airport the Air Berlin jet leaves daily except Thursday and Sunday at 12.15pm and reaches Dusseldorf at 6.20pm for convenient same-day connections to destinations throughout Europe. The return flights both depart Dusseldorf at 5.25pm for Beijing and Shanghai, arriving at 9.00am and 10.20am the following day respectively.
Air Berlin passengers will initially enjoy the comfort of Business Class, with 30 comfortable "Contour" seats. Lie-flat individual seating in the new "Premium Business Class" will be introduced on the routes later this year.
